Monofilament (Polyspiral) Screens Print E-mail
Monofilament screen belts are generally recommended in applications where permeability is beneficial to facilitate the flow of air or liquid. The polyester monofilamnent screens usually sold by Applied Fabric Technologies are used in applications with a maximum continuous temperature of 325°F.

Applied Fabric Technologies offers a spiral weave screen which is a series of interlocking spirals connected with monofilament pins to form a complete fabric. The use of stuffers in the spirals can reduce the permeability of the fabric. Spiral fabrics have a very smooth, uniform surface. Three sizes of spiral weaves are available.

SELECTING THE CORRECT SCREEN
Monofilament screens are available in other weaves also. A complete understanding of the application is critical before a proper recommendation for the type of screen best suited to the application can be made. Our sales staff is trained to evaluate the requirements of the application.

EDGE TREATMENT AND SEAMS
Monofilament screens may be provided with heat sealed, urethane reinforced edges, or thermoplastic reinforced edges. Reinforced edges are recommended where additional edge integrity is needed.

Spiral weave screens are self-seamed. Other seam styles are available depending upon the choice of weave style.
